CAWD is Hiring Reentry Specialists!

Capital Area Workforce Development is seeking both a Reentry Council Coordinator and a Reentry Case Manager. These individuals will work for Capital Area Workforce Development and will be Wake County employees. The application closes on Thursday, January 16th. 

Reentry Council Coordinator: The Reentry Council Coordinator will be the main point of contact and coordination for the Wake Local Reentry Council. This position is integral to the success of the Wake Local Reentry Council. This position includes three major aspects:
—-Working with community partners and employers to create a system of support, referrals, and opportunities for returning citizens entering the workforce, this includes outreach to new partners that can strengthen this system
—-Working with community partners create a system of communication that includes regular meetings, updates, and a clear flow of information among partners
—-Monitoring the progress of the Wake Local Reentry Council including participants served, referrals made, and participant outcomes. This information will be provided regularly to CAWD, partners, and funders.

Reentry Case Manager: This position will serve as the initial point of contact for individuals returning to Wake County from prison, jail and/or probation/parole as well as individuals with a criminal history in need of services. He or she will provide intake, review the clients’ needs, and make the appropriate referral to community partners to meet those needs. This position will coordinate the delivery of services to change client behavior based on assessed risk and needs, provide guidance and support, enhance client participation in the planning process, develop a plan of action, monitor client progress and ensure the continuity of services before and after release. He or she will work closely with other community partners to strengthen the referral network and receive regular updates on clients’ progress. He or she will also document the progress of each client from intake, through referrals, and follow-up and share performance information with CAWD and all partners.
