Employers Look to Fill 3000 Jobs

WRAL Capital Area Career Expo Reflects Where Needs Are

Raleigh, NC, July 25, 2016 – The Capital Area Workforce Development Board (CAWD) is hosting the WRAL Capital Area Career Expo on August 4th at NC State’s McKimmon Center from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Over 70 employers will be present and combined have over 3000 jobs to fill. Many are in high-growth industries with in-demand occupations that are difficult to fill.

“We weren’t surprised that a construction firm like S.T. Wooten would sign up because finding skilled trade workers is an industry-wide challenge in construction. But several other organizations that aren’t related to construction need them too. Just like IT people are needed everywhere, maintenance technicians, electricians, equipment operators and engineers are also needed by manufacturers, rental companies, and state agencies. They all offer tremendous career opportunities,” said Pat Sturdivant, Executive Director of Capital Area Workforce Development Board.

Recruiters representing healthcare, information technology, retail, social services, law enforcement, and others, will also be present. A full list of employers and available jobs is available at www.capitalareaexpo.com.
