Workforce Ready 2014: Data-Driven Talent Decisions
Raleigh, NC, August 15, 2013—Capital Area Workforce Development board will host Workforce Ready 2014 on Wednesday, September 24th from 7:30 am to 9:30 am at Research Triangle Foundation Headquarters. This breakfast event will discuss the trend of using of big data and analytics in corporate workforce practices.
“This is a big data region and many companies are sitting on tons of workforce data that can be used to make strategic decisions about talent. Cost per hire can be reduced and retention rates increased, if you know the right data to collect and measure. That’s the kind of information we want the audience to walk away with and adapt at their organizations”, said Pat Sturdivant, Executive Director at Capital Area Workforce Development Board.
Prasanna “Sonny” Tambe, co-author of The Talent Equation: Big Data Lessons for Navigating the Skills Gap and Building a Competitive Workforce is the feature presenter. A specialist on the IT labor force, his research uses new big data sources, including internet jobs boards and social networking sites, to measure the flow of skilled workers among jobs and employers at a finer-grained level than has been possible using traditional sources.
