CAWD NCWORKS CAREER CENTER SERVICES NOW AVAILABLE IN SELMA

Raleigh, NC, November 9, 2021 – Capital Area Workforce Development (CAWD is pleased to announce that NCWorks Career Center services are now available in Selma at the Selma Library.

NCWorks and NCWorks NextGen staff are at the library every 2nd and 4th Wednesday. Residents can learn about the job market, in-demand skills, apply for scholarships to complete education and training programs and other career services.

“We partnered with the Selma Library because it is a community staple for Selma residents. Being here eliminates the need for adults to travel to our center in Clayton and teens to our NextGen center in Smithfield,” said Pat Sturdivant, CAWD Executive Director.

Selma has a higher poverty level than other surrounding towns. Offering NCWorks and NextGen Career Center services locally will provide access to job training programs for occupations that are in-demand and offer household-sustaining incomes. Apprenticeship programs are also available.
