Partnership with Salvation Army Expands Access to the Underserved

The NCWorks Career Center currently located on the campus of Central Carolina Community College will soon move inside the Salvation Army at 126 Village Lake Rd in Siler City. Individuals will be able to receive career services on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8 am to 5 pm. Appointments are preferred and can made by calling 919-715-0111.

Career services are available for adults and youth. Individuals can get help with resumes, interview preparation, job training, scholarships for training and many support services to aid with finding and retaining employment. Capital Area Workforce Development (CAWD) oversees the NCWorks Career Center.

“Having a workforce that can meet industry demands is very important as more and more businesses move into Chatham County. But workers need to be prepared. The teams at our career centers are quite adept at helping jobseekers access what they need to qualify for good-paying jobs that are in demand, regardless of what career stage they’re in and barriers they may be facing,” said Pat Sturdivant, CAWD Executive Director.

Chatham residents can access services virtually through the NCWorks Contact Center until the new location opens. Career advisers can be reached using chat and email forms at Accessncworks.com in addition to calling direct at 919-715-0111.
