Participating Employers Reflect Job Growth Data

RALEIGH, NC — The Triangle Career Expo debuts on Thursday, September 24, 2024 from 10 am to 2 pm. showcasing a wide range of employment opportunities including some of the region’s most in-demand industries. With over 50 businesses recruiting, openings in healthcare, biopharma, construction and government are prevalent.

Healthcare, biopharma manufacturing, and construction are among the top 10 fastest growing industries in the Triangle. Professional & Scientific Services that include biopharma has a five-year growth projection of 17,000 jobs. The healthcare industry is projected to grow almost 15,000 jobs. Government is projected to grow over 13,000 jobs, hospitality 6400 jobs and construction 5500 jobs.

“Our relationship with the business community is very intentional and every effort goes into connecting job seekers with companies and organizations that offer big career potential. Some have over 1000 positions vacant right now. Anybody looking to start a career or move into a different field can use this opportunity to showcase their backgrounds or find out firsthand what skills they need to get in the door of these employers,” said Pat Sturdivant, Executive Director at Capital Area Workforce Development.

Healthcare providers such as WakeMed Health & Hospitals and UNC Health will be in attendance along with biopharma leaders like Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies, Novo Nordisk, and Korber Pharma. Construction companies Sanford Contractors, Fred Smith Company, Blythe Construction, and Bolton Construction will also be on hand to fill critical positions.

Government agencies including Johnston County, Orange County, the Town of Holly Springs and multiple departments under the State of North Carolina have a variety of public sector roles from tech jobs to public safety. Opportunities at hotels, staffing agencies, non-profits, and other industries will round out the event and provide diverse career options.
