Who’s Hiring? They’re at the Expo!
RALEIGH, NC — CAWD is hosting the 2026 Triangle Career Expo on Tuesday, October 13th from 10 am to 2 pm at the Embassy Suites in Cary. A wide range of employment opportunities are available including many in the region’s fastest growing industries. Over 50 businesses have registered. Openings in healthcare, construction, government and advanced manufacturing are prevalent.
These industries are among the region’s top 10 industries. Job growth projections are strong. Healthcare is projected to grow over 9000 jobs by 2031. The 5-year projection for Government exceeds 5400 while Construction exceeds 4000 jobs. Advanced Manufacturing, including pharmaceutical manufacturing, is projected to grow by more than 2,900 jobs. Each industry also offers strong pay.
“We strive to connect job seekers with employers offering meaningful career opportunities,” said Pat Sturdivant, Executive Director at Capital Area Workforce Development. “Whether they’re just starting a career or exploring a new field, this expo allows individuals to meet employers face-to-face, highlight what they bring to the table, and learn directly from recruiters about the skills that can open doors.”
This year’s event has two sponsors, Arauco and Community Alternatives. Arauco manufactures wood products with a focus on sustainability. Community Alternatives is a leading provider of home and community-based specialized healthcare.
Seven divisions of state government will be present including NCDOT, Department of Adult Corrections, and Department of Information Technology. WakeMed Health & Hospitals, Duke Health, and UNC Health will be in attendance along with biopharma leaders Grifols and Thermo Fisher. Fred Smith Company, Blythe Construction, NC State University Facilities, several city and town municipalities and other companies have construction-related positions to fill.
