During the 3-month program focused on the electrical trade, classroom instruction was held at the NCWorks NextGen center while hands-on training and work experience occurred at Sir Raleigh Electric in Garner. All 7 pre-apprentices have been offered full apprenticeship opportunities through The Raleigh-Durham Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee (JATC) and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) employers.
Wages paid during training was $14.85 and post-training they will be earning $16.79.
The next APP cohort begins on August 22nd and will explore information technology careers. RTriad and Wake Tech will be the training providers. Feel free to share this Go for IT! flyer with clients who may want to participate.
