CAWD Awards $100,000 in Wake Partners Grants to Community Organizations

Capital Area Workforce Development Board in collaboration with Wake County Government is excited to announce the latest recipients of Wake Partners grants. The purpose of the grants is always to provide impactful community-based solutions. This year’s recipients specialize in reentry services. Grant awards total $100,000 and are funded through December 31, 2022. The recipients are:

• Fathers Forever – $17,380
• Interfaith Prison Ministry for Women (Presbyterian Prison Ministry) – $25,000
• J.T. Locke Resource Center (Justice Served NC) – $18,500
• Family Resource Center of South Atlantic – $23,825
• Passage Homes – $21,450

These organizations will provide an array of services to individuals returning to the local community after release from incarceration. With the collaborative efforts of these and other reentry-focused organizations, citizens currently and previously involved in the justice system will have a greater chance of being successful and self-sufficient. This is proven to decrease their likelihood of reincarceration.

Funding for the Wake Partners Reentry Grants comes from Wake County’s portion of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).
