WRAL Capital Area Career Expo Goes Virtual

Raleigh, NC, October 6, 2022 – Capital Area Workforce Development (CAWD) and WRAL will host the WRAL Capital Area Career Expo on October 20 from 10 am to 3 pm. This is a virtual event allowing job seekers to access employment opportunities online from anywhere.

“People remember the annual in-person events we’ve held in the past and we’ll get back to those next year, but virtual events are well-attended because job seekers can connect from the safety of their homes and employers don’t have to leave the office and drag equipment to a physical location,” said Pat Sturdivant, Executive Director at CAWD. “And yet, they both get the same chance to connect.”

Recruiters representing 33 companies have already registered. Industries include healthcare, information technology, retail, local government, aviation, manufacturing and more.

“We are encouraging anyone looking for work to participate in this job fair including those with past legal issues or individuals with disabilities. This labor market has many businesses looking at alternative candidate sources and some are taking diversity, equity, and inclusion programs very seriously,” said Barbara Brothers, Business Engagement Director at CAWD.
